When you hear (or read) about natural or clean beauty, inclusivity and accessibility might not be the first two things that come to mind because, compared to their non-natural counterparts, clean and natural beauty products tend to have a higher price tag. But Nordstrom’s latest concept shop is hoping to change that. On March 1, the department store unveiled Fresh Faces, a one-stop-shop for beauty and wellness enthusiasts, curated by Nordstrom’s vice president of creative projects, Olivia Kim.
The concept shop features more than 500 customer choices, including a mix of longtime favorite brands and newer indie brands, skin care, cosmetics, and even vitamins. Some of Kim’s personal favorite picks: VEQUE Nail Polish in Naturale ($18), Kosas Tinted Face Oil ($42) Clove + Hallow Bronzing Powder ($15).
“It was important to me that we selected brands that are inclusive in every sense of the word. We wanted to create a shop that anyone can visit for their beauty essentials, regardless of skin tone or gender,” Kim told Teen Vogue. “With all of our Pop-In shops, we want to make sure there is a wide assortment and products at every price point so everyone can be a part of the experience. For example, you can find a $12.50 deodorant from Ursa Major or a facial serum from Vinter’s Daughter for $185.”
“Inclusivity and diversity are key pillars in everything we do," Kim added, "and we thought this would be a great opportunity to bring together a destination for natural and inclusive beauty essentials.” Fresh Faces, with its fun and friendly environment, gives customers a chance to test all the products, learn something new, and educates them on how to integrate natural beauty products into daily routines, no matter their budget or background.
The pop-in runs through April 14 at select Nordstrom locations. But if you can’t make it IRL, we’ve selected some of our favorite products to shop online.
