I love your brand’s shower cap. It’s the best cap I’ve ever used. Of the two that I own, unfortunately, the silicone strip is coming away from the front of one cap (see image attached). Order Number: #52836 (placed on August 29, 2018). I expected the cap to last the 10 years advertised on the website. I would really like to replace it with another cap.

I don’t have the Basilica, I have another style which I wish they would do again. The inner rubber band came away from the body of the cap after using it about 20 times. The cap is well designed but is not 100% waterproof on the elasticated section. It is pretty good though and the best I have found so far.

At first, I was reluctant based on the price is, especially when you compare to other shower caps. Then I thought about how much money I spend over the year on replacing shower caps that don’t work well or that get smelly. Plus it’s not great for the environment to go through 5-10 shower caps in a year!! The shhhower cap does an excellent job, covering my hair and keeping it dry. It also doesn’t smell. I should probably wash it but I haven’t because it is completely fine (it’s been over 2 years, don’t judge!). My mom started to use mine when she would come and visit and I ended up buying her one because she loved it so much. I also just bought another one to keep in my travel bag because I get so angry with myself if I leave my cap at home. Worth every penny!!

I use mine at leave four times a week. This cap has a nice secure band to help create suction so water doesn’t enter while showering. Love it.

Love my cap! It's been very durable. Just today I noticed the inner band is starting to come away from the edge, so it's time for a new one. A few things I want to note: It isn't true that it dries immediately -- mine is still damp from my shower four hours ago, particularly at the top edge where it gets the wettest -- and it isn't true that it does not mildew. Mine has gray spots of mildew on the inside and whitish ones on the outside; again, where it gets the wettest. Once I noticed that happening, I started turning the cap inside out and washing it in the washing machine about once a month in an attempt to keep down the mildew. I'll start doing that immediately with the new cap, so I'll see if it makes a difference.
Lastly, I'll note for newbies that I found very quickly that it works better for me to wear the cap backward from the way the models are wearing it. When I wore it with the bunched elastic in the back instead of the front, my hair above my forehead was wet when I got out of the shower and removed the cap. That's probably because I wear the cap at my hairline instead of pushed down onto my forehead like the women in the photos -- I need to wash my face, after all.
Overall, an excellent product that I was grateful to find and have and use!

About the drying and mildew - you're absolutely right that different environments and usage patterns can affect drying time and maintenance needs. Your monthly washing routine is spot on! For optimal care, we recommend hanging to dry completely between uses in a well-ventilated area.
